More than six hundred scientific studies have been published worldwide, which link low-level microwaves and radio-frequency (RF)
fields to dozens of bio-effects and more than twenty illnesses. Microwaves have been shown to cause cancers, damage DNA, reduce
melatonin, disrupt brain chemistry, increase triglycerides and impose impacts to the central nervous system, reproductive system,
brain, cardio-vascular system and hormone function. However, the Federal Government and industry groups have ignored this emerging
science, summarily dismissing these studies, as they continue to cling to an out-dated RF-field health-impact model, which was first
championed in the 1950’s by ex-Nazi physicist Hermann Schwann. This RF-field health-impact model contends that the only possible
harmful effects from microwaves on humans, arises from heating – like a microwave oven. This is called the thermal effect. Meanwhile
hundreds of international biologists and epidemiologists have demonstrated the fallibility of this model by demonstrating RF/Microwave -
induced bioeffects in living organisms, even at very low, non-thermal levels.
While the scientific evidence is mounting that microwaves may be at the root of many modern day illnesses, including many cancers,
Alzheimer’s, autism, depression, Chronic Fatigue, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and other neurological disorders, the Federal
Government has stopped funding RF-field health studies since the late 1990’s, as did most industry groups. Yet as wireless technologies
have recently exploded at unprecedented rates; moved closer to us and into our households; and are now almost 'always on;' there is a
stronger case than ever to commission scientific research into the health risks of microwave radiation from so many wireless signals.

Scientists Wanted: Additionally, we are trying to determine the extent to which a public health threat exists from RF (radiofrequency)
technologies. In particular, we are trying to make the following assessments:
- What is the probability that given the weight of the science (600 plus studies identifying bioeffects) that low-level RF fields do not
cause biological harm?
- What is the probability that given the parallel growth of RF proliferation and the explosion of 20 mystery illnesses since 1980 that RF
is not just correlative but causative?
Scientists and Statisticians are encouraged to evaluate these items and publish to this website for discussion.

The evidence that radio waves from wireless technologies are causing broad health impacts is staggering. There are now hundreds of epidemiological studies (human studies), in vivo (animal studies) and in vitro studies (laboratory studies) that show substantial biological effects from RF fields even at very low levels (far below those levels that cause heating). There is also a burgeoning body of anecdotal evidence from the medical community. The Freiburger Appeal which was generated by concerned physicians and medical professionals and signed by more than 30,000 in Germany and Austria explicitly links cell phones, cordless phones, cell towers and other radiofrequency technologies with the following health impacts:
- Learning, concentration and behavioral disorders (ADD)
- Extreme fluctuations in blood pressure
- Heart rhythm disorders
- Heart attacks and strokes among an increasingly younger population
- Brain-degenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s/ Epilepsy)
- Headaches, migraines
- Chronic exhaustion
- Inner agitation
- Sleeplessness, daytime sleepiness
- Tinnitus
- Susceptibility to infection
In 1990 the EPA raised serious concerns about the biological impacts of electromagnetic fields and low-level RF radiation and even issued a draft resolution proposing the classification of RF/ EMF fields as a probable human carcinogen. The 156 page report titled, "An Evaluation of the Potential Carcinogenicity of Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs)" was circulated within other government agencies and raised tremendous controversy with industry groups. Sources say that the EPA resolution was ultimately silenced by officials in the White House, apparently on the basis a classification of RF/ EMF as a class B1 carcinogen would "scare the American public."
SNAPSHOT: Here’s a snapshot of the mounting evidence linking RF/ Microwave fields and wireless devices to bioeffects and health impacts:
- SCIENTISTS Raise the Alarm: Since 1970, more than 600 RF scientific studies have been published describing a litany of bio-effects,
symptoms and diseases arising from exposures to radio frequency (RF) technologies.
- RF-Induced Illnesses: Scientists cite causal relationships with:
- Leukemia
- Lymphoma
- Breast Cancer
- Prostate Cancer
- Brain Cancer
- Melanoma
- Alzheimer’s
- Autism
- Depression
- Attention Deficit Disorder
- Fire Fighters Fight Back: In August 2004, the International Association of Fire Fighters cautioned against the "possible health
consequences of long-term-exposure to low-intensity RF/MW radiation of the type used by the cell phone base stations."
- PHYSICIANS Speak Out: In 2002 the Freiburger Appeal which was generated by a large group of European Physicians and health
professionals and was signed by more than thirty thousand, went on record with professional observations, linking the use and exposure
to cellular phones, cordless phones and other wireless technologies with a dramatic rise in:
- EMF Sensitivities: At least 18 studies on EMF sensitivity have identified approximately 3% of the population to be
electromagnetically (EMF)sensitive, causing a range of symptoms, including memory loss, confusion, lack of concentration, headaches,
skin rashes, sleep disturbances, agitation, joint pain and other symptoms.
